Hundreds Attend Dedication of New Hospital in Equatorial Guinea.

While the Supreme Court of the United States prepares to hear arguments for and against President Obama's health care plan this coming year, an Israeli woman has acted to vastly improve health care in Equatorial Guinea.

Yardena Ovadia, who has business ties to Sub-Saharan Africa, participated in the dedication of an ultra-modern hospital in the country’s island-capital of Malabo. In recent years, Equatorial Guinea has taken steps towards improving the standards of health care of its citizens. It currently ranks 16th in infant mortality.

The new building, financed by Equatorial Guinea President and rotating president of the African Union, Mr. Obiang Mbasogo, and staffed by Israeli doctors will seek to make a meaningful change.

Rabbi Shlomo Bentolila, the Chabad Lubavitch emissary to Central Africa, offered greetings at hospital’s inauguration and affixed a mezuzah on the hospital’s front door.
